Where it all began...

Beyond Basil Mobile Pizzeria began as a simple spark—an idea from a passionate culinary school graduate who believed that wood-fired pizza could bring people together in a meaningful way. That idea grew into a small business, and when our family discovered it, we saw something bigger waiting to rise.


We purchased the business with a shared vision: to honor its roots and elevate it into something extraordinary. We gave it a new name—Beyond Basil Mobile Pizzeria—and transformed the brand into a rustic, elegant mobile experience that brides, event planners, and social media can’t stop talking about.

Our Story: Built by Family. Fired by Purpose.


For over 15 years, the Biggs family has gathered around build-your-own pizza nights—what started as a fun tradition turned into a monthly ritual filled with laughter, stories, and togetherness. That tradition inspired what Beyond Basil is today: a way to bring people closer through flavor, hospitality, and beautifully designed moments.

We’re the Biggs family—four partners, united by purpose. Kaila, a stay-at-home mom, dreamed of building something of her own. Derek, her husband, is a dedicated father, a successful real estate professional, and a partner in another franchise. Then there are the parents, Robert and Colleen Biggs—seasoned entrepreneurs who have built and sold businesses and helped launch over 300 franchises. Together, we’ve blended our passions, experience, and values to grow this brand into something we believe in deeply.

The Chef

My name is Derek, and tossing pizza dough isn't just my job. it's my hobby, past-time and favorite obsession.

For me, pizza is an edible form of art. We use authentic flour for our dough. It is processed and imported from Italy. Our oven is also made in Italy along with the stones inside of the oven so you are truly getting fresh, Neapolitan pizza.
