About Us
Where it all began...
Beyond Basil Mobile Pizzeria began in New York City, where Brooklynn and Patrick Mayolo met and bonded over their love for food. She was a culinary intern, he was finishing school, and together they explored the rich flavors of the city—falling in love with authentic Neapolitan pizza along the way.
When they moved to Arizona in 2021, they brought that passion with them—determined to recreate the pizza they loved most.
So they got creative...
They thought outside the box and transformed a vintage horse trailer into a beautiful mobile pizzeria. With honest, authentic Italian ingredients and a design that radiated elegance and charm, their philosophy was simple: serve real food, with love and intention, wherever people gather.

New Owners, Same Passion...
As Brooklynn and Patrick’s family began a new chapter, they wanted to leave their beloved business in the right hands—owners who would honor its roots and carry the tradition forward. So they launched a nationwide search to find the perfect fit.
A single Instagram post caught the eye of Kaila Biggs, and from there, everything began to fall into place. The Biggs family had their own long-standing tradition of “Pizza Night,” gathering each month to make their own pizzas from scratch. For years, they had dreamed of turning that tradition into something more—a pizzeria of their own.
As fate would have it, the Mayolos and the Biggs were already neighbors—living just down the street from each other. After a few heartfelt conversations, an agreement was made, and the treasured recipes and techniques were lovingly passed down.
Today, the tradition continues with Derek and Kaila Biggs, and Robert and Colleen Biggs, as the new owners of this stylish and story-rich mobile pizzeria. Same purpose, same heart—just a new chapter, fired by family.

My name is Derek, and tossing pizza dough isn't just my job. it's my hobby, past-time and favorite obsession.
For me, pizza is an edible form of art. We use authentic flour for our dough. It is processed and imported from Italy. Our oven is also made in Italy along with the stones inside of the oven so you are truly getting fresh, Neapolitan pizza.
